As a renowned public speaker, Frederika was invited to give a presentation at our town centre event to celebrate, what was, national Older People’s Day. The emphasis was on fun, the positive aspects of ageing and how best to make later life a pleasant experience. It was well attended by the local people of Doncaster and supported by older people’s groups who demonstrated, ballroom and sequence dancing, chair based tap dance and Frederika’s ‘Recipe for Happiness’ presentation.
The presentation itself fitted in well with the theme of the day which was about fun, the positive aspects of life and how to get the best from yourself. Frederika was professional in her approach, was organised and well briefed and had obviously done her homework around our organisation and the event she was to speak at. This meant that she was familiar with the aims of the days and pitched her presentation at just the right level. Frederika arrived in plenty of time, ensured that she was well prepared and familiar with the venue. She is an experienced speaker and both before and after the presentation, she mixed with the attendees and the partners we’d invited along. There was good feedback after her presentation which created a degree of debate afterwards.
